User Bio Dr. Pearce Sloan is an equine surgeon at Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery in Weatherford, Texas. She is originally from Chester, South Carolina. After high school, Dr. Sloan attended Missouri Valley College on a full academic scholarship and competed in breakaway roping on their college rodeo team. After four years, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and received a contract seat to Mississippi State University which provided in-state tuition for veterinary school. She graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from MSU in 2018, and following graduation, she completed a one-year large animal internship at the University of Georgia. Dr. Sloan then completed an equine surgical residency at Kansas State University. Dr. Sloan’s professional passions include gastrointestinal (colic) surgery and lameness/sports medicine.
