Business Bio Joelle and her husband own and operate Orem Farms in central Indiana where they manage an integrated crop and livestock operation and a thriving direct-to-consumer beef business. As fourth-generation farmers, they firmly believe in transparency within the food industry and have recently transitioned to regenerative agricultural practices. She is a content creator, speaker and award-winning ambassador in the agriculture community. She previously served on the Purdue Extension Women in Agriculture team at the state level, remains involved with her local rural economic development initiatives, and is a Farm Advisor for Barn2Door, an all-in-one business solution for Farmers selling direct to consumers. Joelle currently leads the visual communications strategy and execution for Trust In Food and Trust In Beef, Farm Journal’s sustainable agriculture initiatives. With over a decade of experience in marketing, communications and brand management, she applies a holistic approach to addressing challenges through creative solutions. Prior to joining Trust In Food, Joelle served as a content producer for Farm Journal’s Editorial team and managed the design and creative production for The Scoop, the leading publication in the agricultural retail and crop consulting industry. Joelle champions others in the ag space through Tractor Heels, a rural lifestyle brand with a mission to connect and champion women ag entrepreneurs. She promotes the many facets of the rural lifestyle and is a seasoned creative having worked with several brands, media, and events within the ag industry. She is also the founder of Dark Alley Denim Co., a concealed-carry denim line for women. She loves connecting people and helping farmers overcome obstacles in their life and business. Joelle is on a mission to bridge the gap between rural and professional and provide encouragement to others cultivating their dreams along with their land.
