About Venessa
Venessa Wood speaks for women in agriculture as a whole. Yet she has never lost sight of the one woman in front of her.
For more than 25 years she listened to women across ranching, farming and agribusiness. Many of them wanted the same thing: a place to be heard and understood. AG Women Connect grew out of that listening, and it still runs on it. To Venessa, the women of AWC are more than a membership count. Each one is a rancher, a farmer, a mother, a business owner or a student whose story deserves to be told.
That is why she listens to learn rather than to respond. She makes room for the woman who has never been asked what she thinks. When an opportunity comes up, she mentions another woman's name. Connecting a whole industry and caring for one person at a time are the same work to her.

Proverbs 16:9Venessa speaks with a heart and a passion that audiences feel right away. She will tell you plainly that she did not plan this path alone. Her road has run from Texas Tech and Lubbock to Rural Radio, the halls of the USDA and the White House. Along the way she has watched the Lord establish her footsteps, and she gives Him the credit. Her faith is not a talking point. It is the reason she shows up.
