User Bio Kristen York was born with the "crazy horse girl" gene- and never grew out of it. From an early desire to show horses to earning a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science from Colorado State University, her life and career have been shaped by the horse industry from the ground up. Kristen has spent her lifetime immersed in horses as a showman, breeder, and program manager, including managing the AQHA Best of the Remuda–winning Silver Spur Ranches. Her leadership extends beyond the barn, having served on the Colorado State Equine Advisory Committee and spending six years on the NCHA Executive Committee. An accomplished competitor in both cutting and reined cow horse, Kristen understands the demands of high-level competition firsthand. She also stands the stallion My Pistols Hott with Valley Equine, giving her a unique and practical perspective on the needs of stallion owners, breeders, elite competitors, and everyday horse owners alike. With deep industry roots, hands-on experience, and a strong command of equine insurance, Kristen brings rare insight and credibility to every client relationship—making her not just knowledgeable, but someone people genuinely want to do business with. Brooke Johnson My story began in sunny New Mexico and Florida, but for the past 13 years, I’ve proudly called Weatherford, TX my home. My passion for roping began at a young age, leading me to earn a breakaway roping scholarship at New Mexico State University and later graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business and Marketing from Colorado Tech. Growing up in the roping pen and spending countless hours on horseback has shaped my deep love for the equine world. Today, I balance my time between competing, training, and sharing this passion with my amazing daughter, Bristol Sage, my husband Jase, and my two bonus kids, Jhett and Tenley. Over the last two and a half years, my client network has grown into a family for me. What I treasure most about my work is not just finding the best coverage for your equine needs but building meaningful friendships along the way. Whether you’re new to equine insurance or considering exploring your options, I’m here to help! Let’s chat about how I can assist you in understanding your coverage options and policy details, ensuring you make the best decision for you and your equine athletes.
Business Name Remuda Insurance Group
Business Website http://www.RemudaInsuranceGroup.com/
Business Bio We started Remuda Insurance Group because we are competitors first. We ride, rope, train, haul, and manage horses in the cutting, reining, barrel, and roping arenas. Many of us also come from cattle operations, so we understand the realities of both sides of the industry. We know the risks because we live them — long days, long hauls, high-stakes horses, good cattle, and the parts of this lifestyle that don’t always fit neatly into a policy form. Too often, equine insurance is written by people who’ve never been in the warm-up pen, backed into a trailer at midnight, or made hard decisions when something goes wrong. We built Remuda to change that. As founders and agents, we work directly with horse owners, trainers, and operations of all sizes to build coverage that reflects how you actually compete and operate. Our focus is on clarity, continuity, and long-term protection—coverage that evolves with your program and an advisor who stays involved long after the policy is bound.
