User Bio Krystal Butler is from Sunny Florida. When she is not spending time with her husband and kids, you will find her working behind the scenes here at Ag Women Connect as the Communications Director and Chapter Leader for the state of Florida. Her ag story started as an agvocate when her health required her to take a deep dive into what she was putting into her body and learning about where her food was coming from. The desire to fight for quality food and those who provide it was lit inside her heart. She tries to do her part to educate others about the current state of the US food system and the need to support our farmers and ranchers and all involved in Ag. With that being said, she has expanded her ag story with her newest venture alongside her husband in starting Sofia's Second Chance Animal Rescue (501c3). She has been touched by the shear number of animals in need of safe forever homes so they have decided to be the intermediaries to make this happen. They have placed their focus on pit bulls, horses and donkeys who seem to be the ones that are "discarded" with little to no thought these days. Their goal is to take in abandoned, neglected and surrendered four-legged angels, rehabilitate, love and care for them all while finding them their forever homes within the ag community. Agriculture was not something she ever thought she would find her home in but God knew better than she did!

Business Bio At Sofia's Second Chance Animal Rescue, we have made it our mission to provide a safe haven for animals that are so easily discarded and misunderstood. We desire to give them the love, care and rehabilitation they need while we work to find them a forever family and their place in the community. Whether it is a skittish barker turned couch potato pup, a neglected horse turned cutting or therapy horse, a stubborn donkey turned livestock guardian or companion, there is no pittie too big, horse too small or donkey too sassy that we won't work to help.
