User Bio Hey y’all! I’m Harley coonrod from Abilene, TX. I’m an ICU nurse 36-48 hrs out of the week, but I’m first and foremost a momma to a sweet and sassy little girl and a wife to the hardest working mechanic/farmer/rancher I know. Although I was not born into an agriculture related family, I quickly found a love for horses at a very early age and began riding at the age of 8. Shortly after getting my first horse, I began working at a large local cutting horse ranch during the summer at age 11, where I started out simply unsaddling and bathing horses post workout. In total, I worked each summer for that cutting horse ranch for 5 summers as a loper for them. I truly believe the family that own that cutting horse ranch helped instill the love of agriculture in me, along with many dear friends I met in the horse world along the way. During my childhood and teenage years I was also very involved in FFA and 4H by showing horses, pigs, sheep, and goats, competing in horse and livestock judging, and serving as an FFA chapter officer. I met my now husband my senior year of high school and his family is a multi generation farming/ranching family. Our family owned operation is about 600 acres, with about 80 head of cattle, where we raise haygrazer and winter wheat. I’m so excited to be involved in a community where I can learn more of our industry, and develop skills and wisdom to help continue our family farm for years to come. I can’t wait to grow as a woman in agriculture and network with such likeminded, strong women.
