User Bio Ashley Dibbs is a passionate first-generation agriculturalist who has transformed her childhood dreams into a fulfilling career in the equine industry. Growing up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, she faced unique challenges in entering a field without a family background in agriculture. Her journey began with the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Girl scout SPURS program, which sparked her love for the equine species and showed her that a career in agriculture was attainable. At Texas A&M University, Ashley immersed herself in agriculture through internships and diverse teaching experiences, all while running her own business, AK Rustic Candle Co. Her internship at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo was particularly pivotal in solidifying her aspirations in the equine field. Having participated in various aspects of the show as a youth, she gained firsthand experience of the organization’s mission and its impact on future generations. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and an Equine Certificate, Ashley deepened her commitment to agriculture and education. Upon completing her Master of Agriculture in Animal Science and a Graduate Certificate in Extension Education, she was thrilled to accept her dream role as the Horse Show Coordinator at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
